Participating Programs

This website was created collaboratively by members of the Coastal Coordination Committee (CCC), Indicators Subcommittee. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and the Coastal States Organization (CSO) first established the CCC to create a network of stakeholders that would strengthen communication and cooperation in integrated coastal management and help to identify shared coastal stewardship objectives and goals.

The CCC Indicators Subcommittee specifically addresses coordination of member agencies' and organizations' efforts to develop coastal health indicators. The CCC Indicators Subcommittee aspires to four general goals:

  1. Identify partnership opportunities and methods to simplify/combine indicator efforts related to coastal and ocean management;
  2. Coordinate reporting of a cohesive and complementary message on the state of coastal resources to Congress and others;
  3. Provide a mechanism for information exchange about conferences, meetings, publications, etc. related to coastal and ocean data/information and indicator efforts; and,
  4. Work together to encourage and support regional efforts to develop coastal indicators.

Membership of the subcommittee includes a variety of Federal agencies, state coastal management programs, and coastal management organizations/associations, listed below:
